This bowl is made from a porcelain stoneware mix of clay. It is oven and  dishwasher proof.
The bowls are made by hand and draped over a natural mould to achieve an organic shape. 
Each bowl is impressed with a leaf, it is then left to dry for up to two weeks before being bisque fired to 950 degrees. This first firing is long and slow and takes about three days. The leaf is then highlighted in oxides before resist is applied and then it is dipped in a combination of glazes. I use powdered dipping glazes but much prefer to create my own effects and colours by experimenting with layering these on top of  one another. A truly unique piece of functional art for your home.
There are two of these bowls. Each is unique but they are similar in shape, colour and design with two ferns in each of these bowls. They make a perfect pair.
